Romaine & Apple Green Juice | Juicing Tips & Benefits

ROMAINE & APPLE GREEN JUICE




I am a firm believer in nourishing the body for which green juices have played a big part in my vegan journey and living a plant based lifestyle! They are the ultimate health drink and the easiest way to include more greens into your diet; there is nothing more dense in nutrients than fresh green juices. I recommend to anyone to drink green juices regularly as not only does this help to balance out the sugar we eat, but also helps curbing any sugar cravings. Green juices are filled with many nutrients such as chlorophyll, protein and fibre and I thought I would share with you my favourite combination that I regularly enjoy.


INGREDIENTS

  • Romaine

  • Cucumber

  • Apple (I like green apples)

  • Juice of 1 lemon

  • 1 small piece of ginger

  • Water (I usually use 300ml for 1 serving)


METHOD

  • Put all the ingredients in a high speed blender (I use just an average blender) and blend until smooth.

TIPS

  • Try and aim for 70% greens and 30% fruits in your juices. This way they are super healthy but also taste amazing.

  • Pre wash your greens and store them in a container in the fridge to save time in the morning.

  • Always try to buy fresh greens such as romaine, spinach, kale etc (even better organic as they have over 50% more nutrients than non organic greens).

  • Greens will last up to 3-4 days in the fridge, so you only need to go shopping twice a week if timing is an issue.

  • Try to drink green juices in the morning! It will surprise you how much your sweet/sugar cravings will change.
