The mind and soul are two concepts which are closely related, yet still very distinct from one another. They both come from the inner part of us as individuals, particularly in our brains and also sometimes in our hearts.

I believe the soul is the spiritual nature of humankind, the essence of humankind, and it incorporates the thoughts, actions, and emotions we as people carry out in our daily activities. It is here our emotions stem such as our desires; things that are transient that eventually go away and are forgotten but at the same time give us momentary pleasure. I truly think the soul is such a powerful aspect of our lives as this is where I have personally found my motivation, determination and self acceptance. The soul is where our authenticity is made, our originality, our true beauty which in turn develops overall health and happiness.

The soul is the internal essence of a person, it decides how we as individuals behave which in turn develops into the external essence once the behaviour is carried out. I believe the soul is comprised of 3 components; the mind, our emotions, and our desires. The mind is incorporated at the beginning as this is what stems the souls reactions and how we as individuals decide to react (emotions) and further behave. I love meeting people who are full of energy, you can see it in their eyes, their personality and the way their positivity fills the environment surrounding you. It is these people who have found balance between their own mind and soul, and in my opinion the definition of health and happiness. I love surrounding myself with these kind of people, they not only bring out the best in themselves but in the best me.

The soul can be a hard concept to grasps, I'll admit it took me a long time to make the connection between the mind and soul without thinking it was some odd spirituality idea. The soul for myself includes the foods in which we also choose to nourish our bodies with, and the effects this too can also have on our overall self. I choose to follow a high carbohydrate plant based vegan lifestyle which comprises of lots of fruits, vegetables, potatoes, dates, green juices/smoothies and wholefoods.  I am also the first to admit that I still have my days where I am out of balance, where I wake up feeling low from a mere thought within my mind. It is this thought that brings me down, feeling unmotivated and therefore my soul becomes invisible. I try not to let these moments last too long and I encourage you to do the same; it is amazing once you see your soul on fire how many others lives and not only your own, you can effect, change and influence.

'Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved'.
