It's ok to be where you are

"It's ok that your body is doing all that it can to hold you and allow you to survive"

It’s ok that you aren’t like anyone else, even if you want to be.

It’s ok that your breath escapes differently from your lungs.

It’s ok that you aren’t like your best friend.

It’s ok that your body is doing all that it can to hold you and allow you to survive.

It’s ok that you cry at the drop of a pen or that you don’t cry at all.

It’s ok that your passions and desires are changing.

It’s ok that you don’t know where you’re going.

It’s ok that you feel lost.

It’s ok that you’ve changed your mind about life a thousand times.

It’s ok that your thoughts get the best of you.

It’s ok that yesterday was hard for you to get out of bed.

It’s ok that you’re feeling depleted and you’re trying everything you can think of to keep moving forward. It’s okay that you feel the most lonely you have ever felt. It’s ok that you don’t know how to deal with your depression, or how to cope with your anxiety. It’s ok that you don’t know how to tell your family and friends how you feel. It’s ok that you wake up in the middle of the night with the same nightmares.

It’s okay that you’re here.

It’s okay that you’re you.

Trust me, it’s all ok.

And I know, one day it’s going to be even better than ok. One day you will look at these ok moments and you will realize that you survived them with grace. You’ll look back at the times you were just ok and realize that these were the building blocks you needed to restart your life. You’ll realise that these moments that were just ok were the turning points of your life, and some of the best moments you have ever experienced.

So for now, please know it’s ok to just be ok.
